For non-native English speakers: Publishing in English on Women PhilosophersThis work in progress seminar is intended for non-native English speakers whose current research work is engaging with women philosophers and who would like to discuss strategies and methods to publish and share their research in the Anglo-American world. We will use the participants’ work as a starting point in order to identify how best to establish a dialogue with Anglo-American scholarship. In order to join the seminar, participants should have a complete draft (in English) ready for journal submission that they wish to rework with the group.

These works-in-progress seminars aim to encourage and help early career researchers to develop their papers into publishable articles. Participants workshop papers in the history of philosophy from the 14th through the early 20th century from a wide range of philosophical areas and traditions, that are focused on marginalized philosophers in either the European tradition or in other traditions or on themes that would highlight the intellectual value of these contributions.
Early career researchers include graduate students, post-docs, and pre-tenure faculty. The initial iteration of this seminar in 2020-21 was developed to support early career researchers through the Covid-19 pandemic. We will evaluate continuing these seminars once we see how they work. While the deadline has passed, the call for abstracts (in English and French) is still available for download.
