We are delighted to announce the launch of the first pre-college lesson plans from Project Vox.
These new educational resources introduce students to philosophers who made important contributions to ethical, political, scientific, and literary debates, many of which continue to shape the subjects explored in today’s high-school English Language Arts and social studies classrooms. Designed with both students and educators in mind, these lesson plans invite students to engage in philosophical inquiry, ask challenging questions, and develop the skills necessary for thoughtful participation in public and intellectual life. Through close reading, discussion, and critical analysis, students strengthen their reading comprehension and critical thinking skills while encountering a broader and more diverse history of philosophy. By highlighting philosophers whose contributions have often been overlooked in traditional narratives, these resources also encourage students to rethink who counts as a philosopher and whose ideas deserve to be studied. They offer teachers practical, standards-aligned materials that can be seamlessly integrated into existing curricula while expanding the range of voices represented in the classroom.
