Philosophy’s Future, Past and Present Call for Panel Proposals The concluding bilingual (English/French) Extending New Narratives (ENN) conference, to be held in Montréal on October 7–9, 2027, will bring together scholars engaged in transforming the history of philosophy to reflect on how re-telling philosophy’s past can shape its future. The conference will highlight work on marginalized and non-canonical traditions—including Africana and Black philosophy, Indigenous philosophy, women philosophers in European traditions, Latin American philosophy, and other neglected figures, asking: How might we tell the stories of philosophy’s past in the future? How can these stories affect how we do philosophy now and in the future? Amid ongoing shifts in the discipline, in the academic environment, and in our broader cultural and political landscapes, are these questions still the right ones? The conference will comprise plenary sessions, thematic panels, and parallel paper sessions, and will include space for informal exchange and mentoring of early-career researchers. See the PDF below for the call for panels; panel proposals should be submitted to [email protected] by April 15. A broader call for individual paper submissions will be shared at a later stage.
